Latest capsule addition - red explosion!

With Patti's Visible Monday on Not Dead Yet Style blog in mind I put on my newest addition to the capsule, that I'm trying to get together these days. I love the colours - and I had just the right lipstick to go with it, so I couldn't resist!

New top with old slippers!

We're going for dinner on Wednesday - and I think this top will be on duty, with one of the black skirts from the capsule. Of course I'll make sure you get to see everything! Here's another shot, trying to let you see the gathering detail.

Mock wrap with gathering on the side

It's been a very long time since I wore this lipstick, but I think I can get away with it in this top? Anyway, I'm wearing my favorite bangles, the black one being a gift from the Sweetest Swedish blogger, Anna, from Four Seasons One Wardrobe!

Large black bangle from Anna, small black from Mom

I almost forgot to mention that the price of the top was reduced to less than one third! The brand is Kaliko, and the fabric is Viscose. It took some time for the price to drop, but it was worth waiting!

Oh no, I forgot my rings!

Later this week I'll be at Copenhagen Fashion Fair - and I'm not at all certain what I'm going to wear. My first thought was to put on the striped dress from my previous post, but I'm in doubt. Maybe I should wear something more colourful? Any suggestions?

  1. I say a big Yes to the lipstick! Your coloring is similar to mine, and I think we can rock the bold lips as a bright accent. Love the top too, very vibrant and pretty.

  2. The top is great, very flattering and beautiful colours. And yes yes yes to the lipstick too.
Hmm, what to wear to the fashion fair? Anything eye-catching that you feel completely comfortable and fabulous in. That way, you won't be thinking about what you are wearing at all, and you can just enjoy the day! Bet you have lots of great dresses to choose from! xxxxxx

  4. I agree with all the other comments. This colour on you? Wow! The cut is also perfect. Yes to the lipstick from me too. And your choice of accessories brings out the vividness in everything. For the fashion show? I know you'll find just the thing that fits your mood that day.

  8. Wow Tine, I congratulate you to have find this top -what a flattering cut and the color combination makes my heart dance of joy! I think that the top would be a possible choice for the fashion fare. But I also think your green tunic could be a choice. What ever makes you feel good, accessorized with bold lipstick colors and heels. :-) I look forward to a report from the fair!

    1. Thank you so much Anna! So this time I really hit jackpot on the summer sale!

It's not really the fashion that I'm visiting the fair for, but the jewellery.

I still have this small jewellery company, or rather, a small workshop, so I still get invitations to the jewellery fair. This year the fashion and jewellery fairs have merged so I get to see the clothes too.

However, it will only be the smaller brands I get to see as the big names are placed at different locations around Copenhagen. But I'll do what I can to get photos!

    1. There's an insider's trick to this: Buy the brand from either www.houseoffraser.co.uk or www.johnlewis.co.uk - and while you're at it - have a look at all the other brands. I particularly have a thing for the revived Biba at House of Fraser!

    1. Thank you very much Debbi! I find that matte lipstick lasts longer - and that price also has something to do with it! Many years ago an ex model had this trick: Apply a nice coat of lipstick, then carefully so you don't smudge it, press your lips against a clean piece of tissue paper - and apply another coating. It has worked for me for years!

    2. I remember my mother applying her red lipstick in the 50's with that exact same technique. Hadn't thought of that in years!

    3. The model with this trick started her carrier in the 1930's and ended some time during the 50's. Funny though that it still works!

  14. You look so good in these wonderful draped stretchy pieces. They seem to accentuate all the right curves. Have you looked at the Karina dresses? I see them mentioned on some of the blogs (one being Citizen Rosebud) and I can imagine they'd suit you perfectly. Also, I vote for the striped dress; I love it!!

  15. Thank you very much Jean! I'll check the Karina dresses out today! I may choose the striped dress tomorrow, as it's so comfortable and lightweight, and we're most likely going to have warm, sunny weather tomorrow.

  16. Hi, just wanted to answer your question about Etsy. I do sell art prints on Etsy but haven't made the collection of t-shirts to sell on there yet. I've been waiting for the state to issue me a permit and it has taken forever! If you'd like to take a peek at my shop there's a link to it on my blog if you're curious. Thanks for asking!!
