Pink Pattern Mix

For the first time ever, I'm in patterns all over! Funny that I never noticed until I saw the photos a short while ago. Maybe I've become accustomed to seeing wild pattern mix from all the blog reading?

Paisley - Chevron - Flower

I'm sorry that the same jacket is appearing in two posts in a row, but it's so versatile, I love the colours and pattern, plus I don't have that many to choose from! I see this as an exercise in remixing!

See the matching plant?

The dress hasn't been worn with boots before, but I wanted to extend the maxi season, and  this was what I came up with.

In the winter season I'm planning to wear it with a wool jacket with fur collar and some lovely coloured gloves - and thick tights underneath! If it works there's no reason to pack away the maxi dresses for winter - they will be a year round pleasure to wear!

Jewellery

Today we're all invited to the Visible Monday party at the Not Dead Yet Style blog, hosted by the lovely Patti - and I always wear my best jewellery for parties!

With a nasty backache today I had to cut school short, so now I'll go over to Patti's for consolation, inspiration and motivation...

See you all there!

  1. Absolutely stunning!

I love to see repeat separates on style bloggers. Make them seem more human, or at least more like me. I have to wear the same stuff all the time :P

    1. Thank you very much Lynne! It's not out of choice that my wardrobe is so limited! There isn't much to choose from in Denmark, new or second hand. Buying everything from abroad makes it slightly more expensive - and not everything can be bought without trying it on...

Had I lived in America I would have filled my closet with Goodwill Goodies!

  2. I completely agree, you can layer up dresses and wear them all winter! I love this mix on you, the colours work so well together. I don't mind at all seeing bloggers wear the same pieces. That's the reality of most of our wardrobes, right? Same pieces, different combinations, mix it all up and get creative! You look lovely! Ooh, and the ring, the ring, it's gorgeous. xxxx

    1. Thank you so much Curtise! Too bad I didn't get a ton of maxi dresses this summer! Now it's all about beaded satin party dresses. Having only two maxi dresses in my closet is forcing me to develop serious remixing skills!

The ring is just a cheap thing from Evans!

  3. tine, that is pattern mixing at its best! you look gorgeous in this beautiful maxi dress. i'm also wearing my favorites again and again and if possible in every season. sometimes like a summer dress better when i wear it with boots and a warm cardigan instead of with sandals.

    1. Thank you very much Sabine! You've just given me the idea for the next remix - with my purple cardigan! Funny how I've always taken for granted that summer dresses are packed away for winter - well, not all of them any more!

  4. No worries, I think we should be proud of that we are wearing the same items over and over again. It shows that we have bought the right items, and that we are good at remixing them. This outfit is very flattering on you, and the pattern mixing is great! I would say that you have passed with distinction! I hope you feel better soon!

    1. Thank you so much Anna! This dress has amazed me every time I wear it. The fit is just incredible, and of course I love the colours. Why didn't I buy more?

Remixing isn't a discipline I've excelled in before, so to pass with distinction is fantastic!

  5. Sorry about your back pain! Hope you are feeling better. You certainly look fabulous in these wonderful colors - and like the others I love seeing the same jacket worn in different combinations. Thanks so much for sharing your great looks with Visible Monday.

  8. How wonderful! Excellent pattern mixing and your jewelry is perfect. You look fabulous and vivid, and I love to see the jacket two different ways. I wear maxi skirts in winter, and this dress is perfect for layering long johns underneath.

Sorry about your back pain - hope it eases really soon.

    1. Thank you so much Amber! I already have ideas for a few more ways to wear the jacket, it's harder to come up with new ideas for the dress. Skirts are definitely another possibility! With nice, warm long johns!

  16. I don't think a Vogue stylist could've done any better at pattern mixing. I love the colors you put together. You totally made the maxi work for a fall and on into winter outfit.
