Warm summer outfit

Although it's summer I still need to dress in warm clothes - a consequence of living in Scandinavia! Temperatures are down to the low 50's (Fahrenheit!) and we get a lot of rain and wind. A warm cardigan in a summery colour is called for...

Underneath it I've hidden the purple dress that I'm not too happy with:

The pink against the purple is a good combination, and so is adding the orange bangles, that should have been closer to the camera here:

What you can't see in these pictures is that it's tight around my hips and loose at the waist. Also: when I move my bra is exposed somewhere along the neckline so I have to adjust it all the time. Well, not anymore...

So, after saying goodbye to my purple dress I decided to get a replacement...

Oops!

Have a great Thursday everyone!

  1. Oh, excellent, a shopping adventure to make up for purple discomfort! Good idea! But I like those colours on you. That orange bangle is a lovely pinch! It's 50F here in Vancouver today. And raining. I am complaining loudly.

    1. Thank you Melanie! I'm afraid non of this is thrifted. I'm studying the online thrift shops both here and abroad on a daily basis, but there's hardly ever anything in my size! I did get a fur jacket last summer - I guess I could wear it on Saturday when I'm meeting Anna from four seasons one wardrobe...

  2. I love the length of the cardigan. Did you purchase both of these dresses? I especially like the first one.

    1. Yes, I actually purchased the lot!
The first one arrived this morning, and sadly it doesn't have enough room for my "assets" so it's going back. I'll keep you posted on the others!

  3. You asked me about the white boots and I wanted to stop by and tell you that I got them at a costume supply shop. I have also seen them in some second had stores but they were selling them new. Kind of a weird thing to find. I don't have them anymore because I can't wear my arch supports in them. Thanks for your comments, I appreciate them!

    1. Thank you Joni! Well, I wear arch supports too, so I guess I'll have to wait some time before I try to find a pair...

    1. Thank you Sacramento! My family and I are going to Spain next month, and I can't wait! We haven't yet decided what part but it doesn't really matter as long as it's hot!

  5. Love your cardigan and dress colour! I definitely agree with you as our weather is still cold too, and good cardigans are invaluable. Have a lovely weekend:) New follower here!

  10. Love the bright lavender on you. Sorry new dress #1 didn't work out, but will hold a thought for #2 (which looks very "you.")

    1. Thank you so much Vix! I'm not too impressed with the second one either. I'm considering having it taken in below the waist, and adjusting the hem as it's very long (and looks frumpy!). The third one is just for the beach, but it will look great with a certain bag...

  11. I admire that you to tossed something out and went for something that you loved instead of a piece that you tolerated. We should all be so discerning. Looking forward to you choices!
